In the 2021 National Education Workforce Survey , workload concerns were raised as a common issue amongst respondents. Since then, the national workload steering group has been undertaking work to address those concerns. This survey was undertaken to help assess the progress made to date.

National Education Workforce Survey 2021
In 2021, the EWC, Welsh Government, trade unions, employers, and key bodies representing education professionals in Wales partnered to conduct the National Education Workforce Survey. We asked registered practitioners in schools, further education, work-based learning, and youth work for their views on a number of areas such as workload, wellbeing, and professional learning.
