Wrexham Play and Youth Service, Welsh ICE, and Carmarthenshire Youth Support Service have become the latest organisations to be awarded the Quality Mark for Youth Work in Wales (QMYW).

Following assessments held at the end of 2022, Welsh ICE has been awarded the bronze quality mark, Wrexham Play and Youth Service silver, and Carmarthenshire Youth Support Service gold.

The QMYW (administered by the Education Workforce Council (EWC)), is a national award which demonstrates an organisation's excellence. To receive the accreditation, youth work organisations must self-assess against a set of quality standards and pass an external assessment.

Tomas Phillips, ICE Academy Manager for Welsh ICE said "Receiving the Quality Mark is a great honour. It's a testament to the work we deliver and the team behind it. The process has been one of education and focus. We now look forward to continuing and improving our work and offerings."

Andrew Borsden, Development Officer for the Quality Mark at the EWC said “Throughout their assessment, the teams all demonstrated their commitment to delivering high quality youth work provision. The motivation and enthusiasm of staff was a pleasure to see – congratulations to everyone involved.”

In the next few weeks Neath Port Talbot Youth Services are being assessed for their silver submission, and Princes Trust Cymru and Valleys Kids welcome assessors for the bronze.
