The Education Workforce Council (EWC) has published its Strategic Plan 2023-26.

The plan sets out the EWC’s priorities for the period, and reflects upon its statutory role and remit within the context of the broader education landscape in Wales. It also reinforces the EWC’s vision to be a trusted, independent, professional regulator, that works in the public interest to maintain professionalism, and enhance standards within the education workforce.

Launching the Strategic Plan, EWC Chief Executive, Hayden Llewellyn said “This Strategic Plan is designed to provide strong direction for the EWC as an organisation.

“Within the plan, we set out our ongoing commitment to efficiency and sustainability, whilst outlining how we will ensure that equality and fairness remains integral to our operations and procedures.”

An updated version of the EWC’s  Strategic Equality Plan 2020-24 has also been published, explaining how, through its role and remit, the EWC will seek to develop its approach to promoting equality and diversity over the coming years.

These plans were developed in consultation with registrants, stakeholders across the wider education sector, the public, and EWC Council members and staff.
